Sigrún Kristjánsdóttir, Co-founder

sigrun@sogreen.is

Sigrún has substantial experience working in Finance Functions, as a CFO/COO and previously as Head of Accounting and Head of Treasury and Analysis. Having lead teams working on corporate sustainability, she observed a lack of diversity and innovative approaches to climate solutions in the international carbon market. She now channels her passion for the environment and gender equality into this win-win climate solution. Sigrún graduated with honours from the Oxford Brookes University MBA program and holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.

Guðný Nielsen, Co-founder

gudny@sogreen.is

Guðný started out in the Icelandic finance sector, where before she pivoted into the Humanitarian field, she worked as an Executive Director of Operations. Now, with seven years working in sustainable development and capacity building, collaborating with both global and local organizations in Africa and the Middle East, she‘s weaving her two career paths together. Having worked with vulnerable communities across the regions, she has first-hand knowledge of the barriers too many parents face when it comes to ensuring the education of their daughters. Guðný graduated with an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan where she also earned a diploma from the United Nations’ University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability.

Camille has been working in the field of demography and prospective modelling for the past 4 years, most recently as a PhD researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany. She channels her talent in the application of quantitative tools, e.g., statistical analysis, demographic projections, and micro-simulation, into the study of living conditions for women and girls in low-income countries. In particular, the effect of increased access to education and modern energy on their reproductive choices, and the implications for sustainable development. Camille graduated from AgroParisTech/Paris-Saclay University with a M.Sc in Environmental Economics and Prospective Modeling and has collaborated with several research institutions including the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA).
